Nuneaton Cottage Hospital Cup

August 29th 2016

Well the sun shined us on Sunday at Sheepy Road, for the inageral Final of the Nuneaton Cottage Hospital Cup, now being competed between the Champions of the Coventry, Hinckley, Nuneaton and Tamworth Sunday Leagues and sincere thanks should go to the Management Committees of all four Leagues in making the Competition a success.

Following the semi-finals which took place on August 24th it saw Sporting Dynamo FC from the Hinckley & District Sunday League return from Coventry Sunday & District Sunday League side Wallace FC with a 1-0 win. In the other semis, Nuneaton & District League Champions Poplar Athletic travelled to Tamworth & District Sunday League Champions Appleby Magna FC, where in a competitive game Appleby came out on top 2-0.  Due to unavailability of players Appleby Magna FC were forced to withdraw from the final, and Poplar Athletic FC were reinstated into the Final.
