Dolphins reign comes to an end !

New Dolphin’s defence of the Tribune Cup came to an abrupt end when Hartshill Sports 5-2 knocked them out. Daz Eggleton scored twice for Hartshill, Neil Button, Mike Husslebury and Frankie Dixon scored the others as Sports booked a quarterfinal tie with Premier Two side Weddington Thistle. Weddington overcame another Premier Two side Collycroft Cricketers 7-1 thanks to a hat trick from Tom Bray, two from Ashley Morgan and one apiece from Alex Evans and Mark Brown. Carl Grantham scored the Cricketers reply. Last seasons runners up, Drayton, also fell in round three as they lost 3-2 to Bulkington White Lion. Dayton took a 2-0 lead but two goals from Jim Darlison and one from Steph Jones gave Bulkington the victory. They now meet Ford Sports who booked their place with a 4-1 win over Chase FC. Lee Petch, Neil Mather, Ricardo Rossetti and Craig Ryder all found the net for Ford, Ben Wollerson replied for Chase.  White Hart RL came through a tough game with Stockingford Sports and thanks to goals from Jamie King and Dwayne Cammock they ran out 2-1 winners.


Sunnyside FC v Collycroft Goose FC - Tribune Cup

Ryan Scoffham found the net for Stockingford. White Hart’s reward is a quarter final tie with Haunchwood Sports who thanks to goals from Callum Clark, Mark Hobson, Liam Brown and Ross Genner, beat Ford Oak 4-1.Ian Clayton was the man on target for Ford. The final game will be another all Premier One clash where Collycroft Goose, 2-0 winners against Sunnyside, will meet Ridge Lane or Fir Tree.

In the Observer Shield, FC Gallery’s fine form continued as they beat Ansley Social 7-0. With four divisions separating the two teams, honours were even at half time, however after the break Gallery ran riot and thanks to a hat trick from Paul McDonald and further goals from Lloyd Jacques, Gary Kent, Rob McDonald and Paul Jones saw them through to a quarter final tie with Nuneaton Cherry Tree. Cherry Tree overcame Windmill 5-2 thanks to goals from Kieran Kimberley, Chris Hammond, Wayne Downes, Ashley Newitt and Carl Douglas. Craig North bagged both Windmill replies.  A hat trick from Luke Melling helped PNW Athletico to a 5-1 win over Coton Rose.  Paul Fitzpatrick and Ross Houston completed the scoring as PNW now meet Black Bank after they beat Abbey Green Athletic 4-1. Jamie Rampton scored twice for Black Bank, Andy Titchener and Andy Clayfield scored the others, William Mills replied for Abbey Green.

Black Horse Sports were the days top scorers as they eased passed Nuneaton Rileys 10-1. Lee Miller gave Black Horse the lead but Riley’s equalised. Black Horse then cut loose and in all, Jay Cattell, Lee Miller, Kevin Smith and Wayne Wickes all scored twice for Black Horse, James O’Brien and Stuart Darlison added the singles. Attleboro Sports booked their quarterfinal spot thanks to a 4-2 win over Hayrick. A penalty apiece from Gary Jameson and Alex Lawrence and further goals from Michael Oden and Alan Sharpe gave Sports a 4-0 lead. Hayrick pegged two goals back but Sports held on. They will meet Wentworth Wanderers who had Ben Hartle’s hat trick to thank for a 4-0 win over Bedworth Liberals. Darren Burridge scored the other Wentworth goal.  


Commitment

Trent FC Reserves’ hopes of a hat trick of Peter Smith Memorial Reserve Cup titles came to an end when they were beaten 7-2 by Nuneaton Prince Res. Prince took a 2-0 lead but a penalty from Mark Tutin and an effort from Jolon Doherty took the game into extra time. Prince however dominated the extra period scoring five times.  Ambleside did away with extra time and penalties, for the first time this season, by beating Wentworth Wanderers Res2-1in normal time. James Coss and Simon Rawbone were on target for Ambleside, Dave Robinson replied for Wentworth. Amble side’s semi final opponents will be Ford Sports Res who did need penalties to overcome Drayton Res after both sides were level at 5-5. Lee Gore followed in his dad’s foot steps by scoring a hat trick for Ford Sports, Ian Ensor and Mark Wright scored the others, Aaron Seymour and Shay Tirabaso both scored twice for Drayton, Paul MCQueen the single.


On target from the spot !

In the BCFA Junior Cup only Kelly’s Bar will fly the flag in round three after they beat Wallace 3-1. Scott Williamson gave Kelly’s Bar the lead after 4minutes but their lead was short lived as Wallace found the equaliser. Daniel Moreton restored the Kelly’s Bar lead from the penalty spot before Warren Percival made certain of victory with the third. Kieran Diak-Evans gave Chase FC Res a first minute lead against Coventry Rangers but Rangers hit back to win 3-1. Coton Liberal went out after losing 3-0 to Regent.  

In Mission Fashion Premier One, Ridge Lane moved into fourth spot thanks to a 5-0 win over Nuneaton Prince. Jon McEwan bagged a hat trick for Ridge Lane.  

In Deslandes Premier Two, Trent take over at the top after they beat Crystal 3-2. Shane Brassington gave Trent the lead but Crystal hit back through Carl Pearce and Ryan Grantham to lead 2-1. Phil Green restored parity for Trent before Ben Rowan grabbed the winner. Chris Hall headed the only goal of the game for Ambleside as they beat Attleboro Arms 1-0.  

Hill Top stay top of Alphie Cain division one thanks to a 5-0 win over Hartshill Sports Res. Adam Richardson scored twice for Hill Top, James Elliot, Danny Armiger and Charles Andoh completed the scoring. Ian Quade scored five times for Haunchwood Sports Res in their 8-1 win over Lancet, while Rob Kirkbride’s goal for Attleboro Mills earned them a 1-1 draw with Nuneaton Punch Bowl. Steve Garlick scored with 2minutes left to earn Punch their first point of the season.  

Old Swan moved into second spot in Nuneaton Print division two after they beat Ridge Lane Res 5-1.Graham Douglas scored twice for Old Swan. Attleboro Oak are up to third after they beat Stockingford White Lion 5-1,while Sunnyside Res picked up three points with a 2-0 win over New Dolphin Res.  

The top three were all in action in Nuneaton Trophies division three, two of them played each other. Weddington Thistle Res jumped from third to top after they beat second placed Yenton 3-0. Yenton slip to third, with previous leaders Attleboro Arms Res down to second, after they were beaten 3-1 by Sporting Lloyds.

Collycroft Cricketers Res are top of the pile in Heartland Evening News division four after they beat Attleboro Mills Res 12-0.  Craig Holland and Tim Panter both bagged hat tricks for Cricketers, Adam Hancox 2, Carl Robinson, Paul Burgess, and Gavin Wareing completed the scoring.  Lewis Halfacree scored four times for Royal Oak Bedworth as they ran out 6-1 winners against Bedworth Liberals Res. Richard Seymour and Michael Turner added the others.  

No change at the top of Mortgage Advice Agency division five but Mancetter Athletic missed the chance to move into second after Jail House beat them 3-1. Alan Smith scored twice for Jail House; Lee Rudd bagged the other, with Danny Green replying for Mancetter. Nuneaton Prince 3rds picked up their first league win of the season with a 10-2 win over Chapel End Salutation Res. Lord Raglan took maximum points from a 3-0 win over Stockingford Sports Res. Jason Daffern scored three times for Wentworth Warriors as they beat Yenton Res 4-0. Dave Snowdon scored the other Warriors goal.
