Ton up for FC Gallery !

Congratulations to Brett Ward of F C Gallery, who bagged his 100th goal in Sunday League football in his sides 3-2 win over Yenton Res. It also proved to be the winner after Gallery had twice been pegged back after having taken the lead. Steve Kent has twice given Gallery the lead but first Chris Coleman and then Chris Pith scored he Yenton equalisers. Ward’s winner takes F C Gallery a point clear at the top of Mortgage Advice Agency division five after last weeks leaders, Mancetter Athletic, went down 4-3 to Jail House. Daniel Green scored twice for Mancetter, Sam Barsby added the other, while Alan Smith’s hat trick, his second in successive weeks, his third and winning goal coming a minute from time, gave Jail House their first league victory. Nuneaton Riley’s are up to second thanks to a 3-1 win over Chapel End Salutation Res, while Old Black Bank and Wentworth Warriors shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw. Black Bank took a 3-1lead through two goals from S Matthews and one from J Rampton, however Wentworth hit back through J Duncan, D Lee and J Daffern to share the points.

Trent FC Reserves v Ansley Social FC - Divsion One

In Deslandes Premier Two Ambleside provided an excellent piece of sportsmanship, which is rarely reported. During their 1-1 draw with Wentworth Wanderers, Ambleside’s Ben Hartle went down in the box and his team immediately shouted for a penalty. Ben got up and went to the referee, not to harangue him but to say that he had not been touched. An actioned that is very much missing from football. Did he get booked for a dive? No he didn’t but those who ask the question are missing the point. In the game itself, after a goal as first half, Wentworth took the lead through Adie White. Their lead lasted only 2 minutes before Ian Chaddaway levelled from the penalty spot for Ambleside. Weddington Thistle stay top despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Crystal. Nick Ginnelli was on target for Crystal, Alex Evans replied for Weddington. Dave Stringer scored twice for Bedworth Travellers, Glen Stringer and Steve Bartlett scored the others as they drew 4-4 with Bedworth Liberals. Mark Lambert scored twice for Liberals Scott Harding and Neil Randle scored the singles.  Bull & Anchor moved out of the bottom three thanks to a 2-0 win over Trent, while Coton Rose sink to the bottom after beat beaten 11-1 by Collycroft Cricketers.

Trent clear the danger !

In Mission Fashion Premier One, Sunnyside took the honours in their 7-2 win over New Dolphin. Jamie King’s hat trick for White Hart earned them all three points as they beat Drayton 5-1 to move into third. Lee Chapman and Chris Gittins added the single, Ben Sadler replied for Drayton.

Mixed fortunes for the teams involved in the BCFA Sunday Cup. Chase picked up the ball and ran off with the win as they beat Webb Ellis 4-3. Ridge Lane succumbed 5-1 to Lea Hall Sports & Social, while Bulkington White Lion lost a controversial tie with London Road Social 3-2. White Lion were aggrieved that the named official failed to show and when a London Road official took control and last minute controversial penalty won the game for London Road. Steph Jones scored both White Lion goals and also rattled the cross bar and post. White Lion had another kicked off the line.

In Cain’s Financial Services Division one, Hill Top moved into second spot, after they beat Nuneaton Punch Bowl 4-1. Ashley Wilkes and Adam Richardson both scored twice for Hill Top who are now just a point behind leaders Ford Oak. A 2-1win for Ansley Social over Trent FC Res moves them in third place, Chris Cadman was on target for Trent but two goals from Ansley in the last 10 minutes secured the points.

Watch the ball lads !!!

Stockingford Sports maintain their six-point lead at the top of Nuneaton Print division two thanks to a 6-2 win over Chase FC Res. A hat trick from Rory Flanagan and two apiece from Sean Roper and Craig North saw Windmill go on to beat Sunnyside Res 7-4 and stay in second. Old Swan missed the chance to go into second when they were held to a 3-3 draw with Stockingford White Lion.

A 3-1 win for Attleboro Arms Res at Weddington Thistle Res saw them go top of Nuneaton Trophies division three.  Scott Roberts scored twice for Hill Top Res but they went down 5-2 to Yenton who move into third spot.

Luke Messing scored all four goals for PNW Athletico as they beat Wentworth Wanderers Res4-2 to go top of Heartland Evening News division four. George White and Tom Clark scored the Wentworth replies.  Royal Oak Bedworth move into fourth thanks to an odd goal in seven win over Attleboro Sports. Lewis Halfacree 2, Kyle Madden and Richard Seymour gave Royal Oak a 4-1 lead, Martin Wilson scoring for Sports. However after the break further goals from Darren Davidson and Adam Sharper reduced the arrears further for Sports but they were unable to find the equaliser they probably deserved. Anker Inn and Attleboro Mills Res shared the points in a 1-1 draw, while Bedworth Liberals Res took al three points from a 3-0 win over Baddesley Red Lion.

In the Tribune Cup Fir Tree moved into round 3 to set up an all Premier One clash with Ridge Lane, after they beat Chapel End Salutation 7-1 in their delayed round two match. Rudy Gazeley scored twice for Fir Tree with Danny Wright, Giovanni Green, Peter Gill, Scot Harness and Darren Moore adding the singles. Danny McCloughlin scored the Chapel End consolation. Collycroft Goose also have an all Premier One match in round three after they beat Attleboro Oak 5-1. Mick Stanley, Gary Duncan, Adam Green, Lewis Seymour and Ben Twigger all found the net for Goose. Stephen Payne replied for Oak.

Nuneaton Cherry Tree will meet Windmill in the second round of the Observer Shield after they beat Hartshill Manor 3-2 in round one. Karl Douglas gave Cherry Tree the lead but Peter Gillam equalised from the penalty spot for Hartshill. Ashley Morgan restored Cherry Tree’s lead with Stuart Stain extending that to 3-1 before Andy Hunt reduced the arrears for Hartshill to set up a tense finish.
