Ambleside the penalty kings !

Ambleside Res are continuing an unusual cup-winning streak. Last week they need penalties to beat Hill Top Res in the Brain Dowsett memorial cup. In the first round of the Pete Smith reserve cup they needed penalties to beat Yenton Res and this week, in the second round of the same competition, it was penalties again to dispose of Black Horse Sports Res. Simon Rawbone was on target for Ambleside in normal time, Joe Harper replied for Black Horse. Drayton Res were the days top scorers as they demolished Attleboro Mills Res 14-0. Shane Tirabasso scored four times for Drayton, Steve Phillips and Dave Hill both scored hat tricks, James Brogan, Darren Phipps, Paul McLean and Richard Wilson added singles. James Hill scored twice for Wentworth Wanderers Res as they went on to beat Chapel End Salutation Res 4-1. Dan Wood and Mark Wilson completed the Wentworth scoring, Lee McKeown replied for Chapel End.


BCFA Junior Cup Action - Ford Sports Res

In the second round of the Tribune Cup holders New Dolphin needed extra time to see of a determined challenge from Crystal. A Hat trick from Darren James, two from Chris Broadhurst and another from Gary Jameson saw Dolphin home. Nick Ginnelli scored twice for Crystal, Danny Jordan and Darren Stephenson added the others. Dave Merry took his season’s tally to nine goals for Ford Oak as he scored four times in their 7-2 win over Yenton. Andy Riley 2 and Ian Clayton scored he other Ford goals, Kieran Brown and Karl Hutchinson replied for Yenton.

Gareth Holes scored twice for Stockingford Sports as they edged passed Mount Pleasant Bedworth 3-2. Kyle Cartwright scored the other Sports goal. Lee Petch and Neil Mather both scored twice for Ford Sports in their 4-1win over Royal Oak Bedworth, while Zak Fotheringham bagged a hat trick for Haunchwood Sports in their 4-0 win over Ambleside. Joe Johnson, Tom Bray and Ashley Morgan were all on target for Weddington Thistle as they beat Kelly’s Bar 3-1. Daniel Moreton scored the Kelly’s Bar goal. Chris Reilly gave Bull & Anchor Ash Green the lead in their game with Bulkington White Lion but the Premier One outfit hit back through two goals from Kieran Moore and singles from Jim Darlison and Robbie Jones to win 4-1. Neil Button helped himself to a hat trick for Hartshill Sports in their 7-1 win over Baddesley Red Lion. Scott Molineaux 2, Frankie Dixon and Darren Eggleton added the others.  

In the Observer Shield first round, Roy Flanagan scored twice for Windmill as they went onto beat Mancetter Athletic 6-2. Chris Morewood, Shane Webb, Jonathan Wilkes and Sean Roper also found the net for Windmill, Lee Taylor and Lou Dingley scored the Mancetter consolations. Attleboro Sports also enjoyed a 6-2 win as they move into round two.  Dave Mallabone and Matt Friswell both scored twice for Sports as they went on to beat Jail House. Gary Jameson was among the other Sports scorers; Alan Smith and Michael Haynes scored the Jail House goals. Adie White scored twice for Wentworth; Paul Johnson scored the other as they beat Nags Head 3-0. Luke Melling score four of the six PNW Athletico goals, Ross Easton scored the other two to see off Stockingford White Lion 6-2.Lee Basson scored both White Lion replies. Nathan Walker scored both Old Black Bank goals as they beat Sporting Lloyds 2-0.  Also my team-mates have expressed their disappointment as no mention was  PNW Athletico from division four swept aside Stockingford White Lion from division two, 6 - 2, with goals coming from Luke Melling (4) and Ross Houston a brace..
 

In the league games played Ansley Social collected their first win of the season as they beat Nuneaton Cherry Tree 2-1 in Cains Financial Services division one. Stephan Villiers and Ed Prince were on target for Ansley, Steve Jerrams replied for Cherry Tree.

Chapel End Salutation take over at the top of Nuneaton Trophies division three thanks to a 2-0 win over Attleboro Arms Res. Ian Aspley and Martin Downs were both on target for Chapel End. Weddington Thistle Res moved out of the bottom two thanks to their 3-2 win over Hill Top Res. Steve Lines scored both Hill Top goals.  

Collycroft Cricketers Res missed the chance to go top of Heartland Evening News division four after Ford Oak Res beat them 3-2.  Cricketers took a 2-0 lead but two goals from Michael Nixon, taking his tally to eight for the season, and one from Richard Walsh, secured the points for Ford.  

F C Gallery maintained their one point lead at the top of Mortgage Advice Agency division five, but still have Nuneaton Riley’s breathing down their necks. Gallery stay top thanks to a 3-0 win over Abbey Green Athletic. Mathew Watson, Paul McDonald and skipper for the day Danny Durbin, all found the net for Gallery. Luke McCloskey and Keray Metzereet both grabbed hat tricks for Rileys as they beat Wentworth Warriors 9-3. Dave Jones 2 and Craig Robertson completed the Riley’s scoring, Martin Clark, Dahmi Patel and Jason Daffern replied for Wentworth. Edmund Bahraji and Callum Tweed both found the net for Yenton Res in their 2-1 win over Stockingford Sports Res. Scott Walton replied for Sports.
