Yenton close in on Division Three Title !

Yenton have moved to within 3 points of the Nuneaton Trophies division three title after they beat Attleboro Arms Res 5-0. Yenton will take the title if they beat Chapel End Salutation next week, a team that have beaten once already this season. Adrian Talbot bagged a hat trick for Yenton, Darren Hodge and Andy Taylor scored the others. Sporting Lloyds stay second but drew 2-2 with Nuneaton Prince Res and will clinch promotion next week if they win and Prince Res lose to Mount Pleasant Bedworth.  


Nuneaton Punch Bowl v Ford Oak

Bulkington White Lion have opened up a seven-point lead at the top of Mission Fashion Premier One after they beat Drayton 2-0. Steph Jones and John Wilkins both found the net for Bulkington. Goose stay third despite drawing 2-2 with Sunnyside, Gary Duncan and Lee Bugea scored the Goose goals, Lee Holt and Ian Boyes replied for Sunnyside. Hartshill Sports missed the chance to take third spot after they were beaten 4-3 by Ridge Lane. Two Neil Hopkins goals and another from Rocky Pratt helped Hartshill into a 3-0 lead in the first 15 minutes. However helped by a hat trick from Jonathan McKewan, Ridge Lane took the points. At the other end of the table, New Dolphin stay bottom after losing 4-1 to Nuneaton Prince while Chase stay in the bottom two after going down 6-3 to Haunchwood Sports  

In Deslandes Premier Two, Crystal Sunday missed the chance to go top of the table after they were beaten 3-0 by Black Horse Sports. James O’Brien, Jay Cattell and Kevin Smith all found the net for Black Horse.  Attleboro Arms eased their relegation worries thanks to a 2-1win over Bull & Anchor Ash Green.  


Attleborough Arms Res v Ambleside AFC Res

No Change at the top of Alphie Cain division one with the top two both winning. Ford Oak came from a goal down to beat Kelly’s Bar 4-1. Daniel Moreton gave Kelly’s Bar a first half lead but Ian Clayton equalised after the break with a free kick. Three goals in the last 10minutes finally finished off Kelly’s Bar, David Merry scored the first of these, and sub Brad Matheson added another while Gavin Orton completed the scoring. Hill Top, unbeaten in a league game since October 2006, stay second after beating Nuneaton Cherry Tree 5-2 thanks to a hat trick from Adam Richardson. Jason Warden and Byron Warmington completed the scoring. Two goals from Matt Lawley and one each from James Thomason, Danny Lake and Aaron Banks helped Hartshill Sports Res to a 5-1 win over Coton Liberal. Steve Garlick’s last minute goal for Nuneaton Punch Bowl secured them all three points in a 1-0 win over Lancet.   

In Nuneaton Print division two, Attleboro Oak closed the gap on leaders Stockingford Sports to eight points after they beat Old Swan 6-5. Stockingford White Lion also enjoyed a high scoring game eventually winning 4-3 against Drayton Res.  

Royal Oak Bedworth have opened up a three-point lead at the top of Heartland Evening News division four. Adam Knowles and Adam Brick both hit the target for Royal Oak as they beat title rivals Hartshill Manor 2-0. Collycroft Cricketers missed the chance to move into second after they were beaten 5-2 by Attleboro Sports. Craig Holland scored both Cricketers goals, but Sports took the points thanks to a brace from Alex Lawrence and one each from Danny Elkerton, Fraser Mullins and Tom Layborne.  Anker Inn helped their fight against relegation after they beat PNW Athletico 3-1. Paul Arnold scored twice for Anker, Nathan Whitehead the other, while Alex O’Neill replied for PNW.  

FC Gallery edged closer to the Mortgage Advice Agency division five title after they beat Chapel End Salutation Res 3-0. Nuneaton Riley’s moved into second after they beat Mancetter Athletic 7-3. Ian Barsby, Lee Taylor and Andy Taylor scored the Mancetter goals. Ryan Allen, Chris Yeo and Nathan Walker all found the net for Old Black Bank as they went on to beat Abbey Athletic 3-2. Jack Hubbard and Paul Smith replied for Abbey. Luke Davis, Glen Matty and Charlie Jones were all on target for Bedworth Miners Arms as they collected three points from a 3-1win over Yenton Res. Callum Tweed scored the Yenton goal.
