Trent Reserves come good in the NIC Cup !

Trent FC Res put their miserable league form behind them to reach the semi finals of the N.I.C.Cup. They twice came from behind and eventually clinched a 4-3 win over Kelly’s Bar in the last minutes of extra time. Daniel Moreton gave Kelly’s Bar the lead but Dave Robinson equalised for Trent, picking up the pieces after two Kelly’s Bar defenders went for the same ball. James Randall then gave Trent the lead with only minutes left of normal time. With the referee about to put his whistle to his lips, Brendon Johnson fired in a dramatic equaliser to force extra time. Aaron Barrell then put Kelly’s Bar backing front and just as if it looked to be enough, Andy Moreton and Robinson again score din the final 3 minutes to give Trent victory.  Their reward is a semi final tie with Haunchwood Sports who edged passed Ford Oak 2-1. Jonathan Clark gave Ford the lead but Steve Thomas and Darren Tring won the game for Haunchwood. The other semi will see Hill Top meet Nuneaton Cherry Tree. Hill Top were the days top scorers as they beat Coton Liberals 12-0. Danny Armiger bagged four of the goals, Ashley Wilkes 3, Adam Richardson 3 and Charles Andwar scored the others. Cherry Tree overcame Lancet 3-2. 


Intense concentration in the Oak v Mills Cup clash!

In the Neales Builders Cup, Ford Sports’ hopes of a league and cup double took a dent as they were beaten 4-3 by Fir Tree. Danny Wright, Scott Harness, Duncan Moore and Scott Moore all found the net for Fir Tree, Ricardo Rosetti 2 and Carlo Rosetti replied for Ford. Fir Tree will now meet Drayton who beat Bulkington White Lion 2-1. Hartshill Sports booked their place in the other semi with a comfortable 4-0 win over New Dolphin. Matt Stanley scored twice for Hartshill, Frankie Dixon and Daz Eggleton added the others.  

Ambleside were again in penalty shootout territory in their Glass 2000 match against Collycroft Cricketers. The game finished 2-2with Kyle Grantham and Scott Burrows on target for Collycroft, Ambleside replied through Ian Chaddaway and Matt Hall, however the penalties went the way of Collycroft 4-3. They will now meet Bedworth Travellers who beat Attleboro Arms 4-2. Bedworth Liberals secured a place in the other semi thanks to a 5-4extra time win over Crystal Sunday. Mark Perkins, Nick Ginnelli, Elliot Anderson and Lee Hurst all found the net for Crystal, but Liberals secured victory through two goals from Mark Robinson and singles from Mat Stanley, Scott Harding and Mark Harding.  


Hill Top v Coton Liberal in the NIC Cup

Shane Tirabasso scored twice for Drayton Res helping them to a 5-4 win over Old Swan in the Sid Clay Memorial Cup. Darren Phipps, Hayden Lewis and Aaron Seymour completed the Drayton scoring, Ben Wright, Tom Clark, John New and Drew Hayward replied for Old Swan. They will now meet Stockingford White Lion who beat Ridge Lane Res 2-0. Adam Brown scored his first goal in senior football for Ford Sports Res as they went on to beat New Dolphin Res 3-1. Mark Aucott and Neil Percival also scored for Ford, James Liddle replied for New Dolphin.  

Ambleside Res booked their semi final place in the Brain Dowsett Memorial Cup with a 2-0 win over Mount Pleasant Bedworth. Boston Rhodes and Simon Rawbone both found the net for Ambleside. Nuneaton Prince reserved their spot in the other semi with a 5-1win over Sporting Lloyds.  

The top four teams in Heartland Evening News division four will contest the semi finals of the Sporting Touch Cup. Current leaders Royal Oak Bedworth booked their place with a 5-0 win over PNW Athletico. Lewis Halfacree bagged another hat trick for Royal Oak, Lee Oddy and Dale Oddy scored the others. They will meet Ford Oak Res, currently third in the table. Ford had Richard Orton to thank as his hat trick set them up for a 5-1 win over Attleboro Mills Res. Hayden Wood and Steven Hill scored the other Ford goals. Second placed Collycroft Cricketers Res beat Baddesley Red Lion 4-0 and will play Hartshill Manor who, thanks to two goals each from Pete Gillam and Andy Calvert, saw off Wentworth Wanderers Res 4-1.  


GOAL - Ford Oak v Attleborough Mills Res in the Sporting Touch Cup

FC Gallery and Mancetter Athletic will meet each other in the first of the Cannon Sports Cup semi finals. Gallery beat Yenton Res 5-2 with Matthew Watson scoring a hat trick and Rob McDonald the other two. Chris Coleman and Shane Brwon scored the Yenton consolations. Mancetter beat Chapel End Salutation Res 3-1 thanks to two goals from Danny Green and one from Ezzer Thomas.  

In the league matches played, Collycroft Goose moved into second spot in Mission Fashion Premier One after they beat White Hart RL 3-1. Ben Twigger scored twice for Collycroft, Ben Doran the other, while Stuart Dawe replied for White Hart. In the other game Sunnyside and Ridge Lane shared the spoils as they drew 1-1. 

Both games in Deslandes Premier Two ended in 2-2 draws. Bull & Anchor moved into third spot as they dreww3ithBlack Horse Sports, while Coton Rose collected their first league point against Wentworth Wanderers. Ben Makins and James Hill both found the net for Wentworth, David Gazeley scored both Coton Rose goals. 

Hartshill Sports Res moved into fourth spot in Alphie Cain financial services division one, after they beat Attleboro Mills 2-1. Jonathan Paden scored both Hartshill goals, Curtis Osborne replied for Mills.

Stockingford Sports increased their lead at the top of Nuneaton Print division two to four points thanks to their 5-0 win over Sunnyside Res. Gareth Holmes bagged a hat trick for Sports, with Aaron Cartwright adding the others.  

A hat trick from Scott Jerkovic helped Hill Top Res to a 5-2 win over Chapel End Salutation in Nuneaton Trophies division three. Richard Cousins and Steve Morris also found the net for Hill Top, Andy Redman and Danny McLaughlin scored for Chapel End.  

Alex Lawrence scored the only goal of the game for Attleboro Sports as they beat Anker 1-0. That win takes Sports into fifth spot in Heartland Evening News division four.  

Jonathan Arshad scored a hat trick for Jailhouse as they beat Bedworth Old Black Bank 3-1 in Mortgage Advice Agency division five. Daniel Rampson scored the Black Bank goal. Martin Clarke scored a hat trick for Wentworth Warriors as they went on to beat Lord Raglan 4-2. Jason Daffern scored the other Wentworth goal, Dave Smith and Richard Wood replied for Lord Raglan.
