Alan Smith reaches
landmark for Jailhouse !
Alan Smith
reached a personal landmark for Jailhouse FC as he scored
his 100th goal for the club in the Sunday League.
His brace this week helped Jailhouse to a 6-2 win over
Stockingford Sports and move within five points of leaders
The Horseshoes at the top of Ebben
& Yorke Wood Burning Stoves Premier Two. Jim
Goose, James Darlaston, Mark Aucott and Paul Flemming scored
the other Jailhouse goals. The Horseshoes stay out in front
thanks to their 3-1 win over Wentworth Wanderers. Andy
Newman's header, a penalty from John Bentley and a tap in
from Danny Hughes earned The Horseshoes all three points.
Collycroft Cricketers stay in second thanks to a 7-1 win
over Attleboro Oak, two points clear of Attleboro Potters
who beat Manor House 4-1. John Taberer and Danny Edmond gave
Potters a 2-0 half time lead before Paul Geraghty pulled one
back for Manor House. Danny Armiger restored their two goal
advantage before Edmond bagged his second and the Potters
fourth.

Drayton v Bear
& Ragged Staff - ID Kitchens Cup
The top of
the table clash in Extremes Hair &
Beauty Salon Premier One went the way of second
placed Ambleside as they beat leaders Haunchwood 4-1 to
close the gap to five points. Matthew Pape gave Ambleside
the lead but a short back pass from the Ambleside defence
let in Haunchwood for the equaliser. With Haunchwood
pressing for the lead, Ambleside hit them on the breakaway
with Lee Petch finding the clinical finish. Ambleside keeper
Tony Goodman then produced a fine double save before Ben
Woollason increased their lead. Lee Petch scored his second
goal ten minutes from time to seal the win. Weddington
Thistle move up to third spot thanks to their 3-1 win over
Orchard Athletic thanks to goals from Adam Richardson, Kyle
Grantham and Liam Brown. Sean Harris pulled off a last
minute penalty save to maintain their winning margin. Bear &
Ragged Staff gained some revenge on Drayton for a 2-0 defeat
in the internal cup to triumph 3-1 in their league
encounter. Alan Miller gave Bear & Ragged Staff the lead
which was doubled by Luke Tyler before half time. Miller
scored again after the break but despite a reply from Martin
Sadler for Drayton, Bear & Ragged Staff held on.
No changes
at the top of Peter Savage Ltd
Division One after all three top teams won.
Ambleside Res stay two points clear at the top thanks to
their 3-1 win over Bermuda Sunday. Simon Rawbone, Craig
Garner and Lee Walkinshaw all found the net for Ambleside,
Ashley Mantack replied for Bermuda. Carl Foster scored twice
for second placed Newdigate Sports as they went on to beat
Haunchwood Sports Res 4-3. Lee Stein and Kerry Smith scored
the others in a win inspired by man of the match Wayne
Wickes. Malt Shovel are in third spot separated from
Newdigate only by goal difference, after they beat Griff &
Coton Manor 4-3. Matthew Golds bagged a hat trick for Malt
Shovel, Ryan Glover scored the other. Sam Clamp, Matthew Day
and Carl Pearce replied for Griff & Coton. Kelly's Bar
suffered their first league defeat at the hands of
Weddington Thistle Res as they lost 3-2. Steph Beale and
Michael Leeson scored the Kelly's Bar goals as they finished
with nine men. Aaron Fountain and Matthew Travis were among
the Weddington scorers.

The Blue
Lion extended their lead at the top of
Nuneaton Print Division Two
to seven points despite only drawing 2-2 with Attleboro
Mills. After a goal less first half, The Blue Lion raced
into a 2-0 lead but Mills hit back through Shaun Tweed's
first goal for Mills and sub Andrew Stringer. Second placed
Chetwynd Res slipped to a 4-0 defeat to bottom of the table
Ridge Lane Res for their first league win of the season.
Attleboro Sports moved up to fifth spot thanks to a 7-1 win
over Attleboro Potters Res. Adam Newall gave Sports a 1-0
lead at half time despite missing two 'sitters'. After the
break Dave Bennett and Dave Jordan both scored twice and
Liam Brown came off the bench to score another two, before
Peter Holness scored with the last kick of the game for
Potters. Dean Pate was on target for Hartshill Sports Res
but they went down 4-1 to Bedworth Conservatives who move up
to sixth.
Arley
Miners maintained their four point lead at the top of
Nuneaton Trophies and Awards Division
Three. A first minute goal in their game with
Attleboro Mills Res proved to be enough to take all three
points. Second placed Nuneaton Coton Liberals enjoyed a 3-1
win over Stockingford Sports Res, while Bedworth Liberals
Res missed the chance to make second spot their own after
they drew 2-2 with Chetwynd Arms 3rds. Jag Nijjar bagged a
hat trick for Orchard Athletic Res as they went on to beat
Royal Oak Bedworth 7-3. Luke Spencer scored two of the other
Orchard goals, Ben Makins and Adam Morgan the singles. Craig
Proctor, Lee Evans and Dale Cole replied for Royal Oak
Bedworth. Alties moved out of the bottom three thanks to
their 4-1 win over Sporting Hearty.
Four
points separate the top eight teams in
Nuneaton News Division Four
with the top three all level on 23 points. Chestnuts
take over top spot and boosted their goal difference with a
14-1 win over Wentworth Wanderers Res. Paul Kirkbride and
David Gazely both scored four each, Jonathan Aucott a hat
trick, Shane Hunter 2 and Curtis Osbourne the single. Kevin
Wood scored the Wentworth Wanderers Res consolation. The
Clock, who didn't play, occupy second spot while Attleboro
Potters 3rds move up to third after they beat Camp 7-2. Camp
didn't help their cause by scoring four own goals. Richard
Gregory, Adam Kelly and Matthew Wildebore all found the net
for Anker as they beat Grendon Black Swan Res 3-0 while FC
Atack Res overcame Kelly's Bar Res 1-0 to stay in eighth.
Stockingford Royal Oak stay two points clear at the top of
Mark Blair Mortgage & Finance
Division Five after they beat Parade Sports 12-1.
Andrew Parkes led the way with a hat trick for Royal Oak,
Michael Nixon and Danny Wilson both scored twice, Ian
Clayton, Jason Wilson, Brad Mattherson, John Clarke and sub
Jack Bailey, who scored his first goal in Sunday football,
completed the scoring. Daniel Woods, Lee Oddy, Adam Knowles
and Richard Seymour all found the net for Trent Valley as
they went on to beat Pig & Whistle 4-2. Danny Elliot and
Dave Stewart scored the Pig & Whistle goals.
