Ford Sports hit the ground
running !

Sports got away to a flyer in their defence of the
Mission Fashion Premier One title
after beating last seasons third placed side, White Hart
RL, 3‑1. Neil Mather opened his account with a brace; Ian
Thompson scored the other while Stuart Dawe replied for
White Hart. Drayton and Haunchwood Sports shared the
points in a six‑goal thriller in a tale of two hat tricks.
Pete Benn, for Drayton and Zak Fotheringham, for
Haunchwood start as they mean to go on. Collycroft Goose
will hope to better last seasons fourth place and started
well with a 4‑3 win over Bulkington White Lion. Mark
Stanley, Stuart Pagett Lewis Seymour and Duncan at found
the net for Collycroft, Rich Kay and two Darren Whitmore
goals made up the Bulkington reply. Terry Jonas and Rudi
Gazeley both found the net for Fir Tree as the opened up
with a 2‑1 win over newly promoted Nuneaton Prince. Rocky
Pratt scored for the Prince.

Deslandes Premier Two
the local Bedworth derby between newly promoted Bedworth
Travellers and Trent FC went the way of Trent, Adarn
Newall helped Trent to all three points, with a hat trick,
Ben Mountford scoring the other. Weddington Thistle,
promoted last season, opened their Premier Two account
with a 3‑1 win over Wentworth Wanderers. Tom Bray, Ashley
Morgan and Alex Evans all found the net for Weddington,
Craig Munday replied for Wentworth. Bull Athletic kicked
off their seasons with a 3‑0 win over Attleboro, Arms.
Kelly's
Bar enjoyed themselves in front of goal as they opened up
their Caine Financial Services
division one campaign with an 11‑1 win over
Lancet. Aaron Barrell led the way with three of their
goals; Quinton Stephens bagged a couple as did Daniel
Moreton after he came on as a sub. Another super sub to
add his name to the score sheet was Lee Matthews, before
Damian Johnson, Brendan Johnson and Darren Boone finished
of the scoring, all scoring from '25 yards'.

that in beating Sunnyside Res, 3‑0 in their opening
Nuneaton Print
division two
fixture.
Williarn Atkinson scored two of the Ford goals, Mark
Aucott adding the other. The Old Swan, who came up with
Ford also won their first game as they beet Ridge Lane Res
7‑3. The two Stockingford sides also opened up with
victories. Stockingford Sports beat Nags Head 2‑1, while
White Lion also won 2‑1 against Windmill. Jason Messenger
scored the Windmill goal, but two goals from Darren
Longstaff secured the points for White Lion.
Nuneaton
Trophies division three
could be a close division this season if the opening
round of games is anything to go by. Hill Top Res secured
a 3‑0 win over Chapel End Salutation thanks to two goals
from Danny Armiger and one from Mark Hessen. Mount
Pleasant narrowly beat Weddington Thistle Res 4‑3, while
Attleboro Arms Res squeezed passed Arnbleside Res 3‑2.
Black Home Sports Res and Yenton Sunday shared the points
in a 2‑2 draw. Mark Reading and Tom Rigielski scored the
Black Home goals.
Hartshill Manor top the early table in
Heartland Evening
News division four thanks to a 4‑0 win over Anker Inn. Baddesley Red Lion are a close second thanks to their 5‑2
win over Royal Oak Bedworth, while Wentworth Wanderers Res
beat Attleboro Sports 4‑2. Tim Panter, Adarn Hancox and
Jamie Newitt all found the net for Collycroft Cricketers
Res in their 3‑0 win over Ford Oak Res. PNW Athletico also
enjoyed an opening day success beating Attleboro Mills Res
3‑1.
Nuneaton
Riley’s, who last term finished bottom but one of the
Mortgage Advice Agency division
five table, now sit at the top after a 10‑2 win
over Bedworth Old Black Bank.
FC
Gallery, a new side this season. started with an 8‑0 win
over Wentworth Warriors. Both of the Gallery forwards
started with a bang, Matthew Watson and Paul McDonald both
scored hat tricks. Ryan Porter and Rob McDonald, completed
the scoring. Daniel Barsby was on target for Mancetter
Athletic in their 1 ‑1 draw with Hayrick, Ben Parker
rescued a point for Hayrick with their goal. Dave Castle
and Jarnic Baldwin both found the net for Yenton Res as
they shared the points in a 2‑2 draw with Chapel End
Salutation Res, Kane Leeson and Aaron Penn replied for
Chapel End.
