Drayton triumph in Tribune Cup !
May 17th 2009

Drayton won the Tribune Cup for the fourth time, denying opponents Haunchwood Sports the chance to regain the trophy they won last year. It was Haunchwood however who took the lead after three minutes with a goal from Mark Williams. Drayton drew level after 25 minutes when Ben Sadler took advantage of a defensive mistake to crash the ball home. Within 5 minutes Scott Friswell had given Drayton the lead and by half time they had extended that to 3-1 with a goal from Matthew George.  Stern words in the Haunchwood dressing room at half time sae Williams complete his trick of the first half. Three minutes in he reduced the arrears to 3-2. Despite some good goalkeeping from both keepers, neither side added to the score and Drayton held on for a 3-2 win.
