The final was played in an excellent spirit on a very warm spring day at the Pavilion.  Both defences were well on top.  With both side familiar with each style of play, they cancelled out each other.  After 90 minutes the teams were level at 0 - 0.

Again in extra time it was going to require something special to prevent penalties deciding the winners, and this came in the 118 minute.  The ball was played from the back to Gaz Holmes, who broke clear, he was well marshalled out to the left hand touchline by the Lloyds defence, when he shot from 35 yards, deceiving the keeper, who could only palm it onto the post and watch it trickle over the line for the Sports winner.
